Bay Area Residents for Responsible Development (BARRD) would like to invite all interested people and organizations to attend a meeting for an update on events relating to:
Cherokee/Simeon/Campus Bay (formerly Zeneca/Stauffer) site
and
UC Bayside Research Campus (newly named)
(formerly UC Richmond Field Station)
Peter Weiner of Paul Hastings Law, San Francisco, has been BARRD's attorney since inception and will be present to share information and discuss the current status of:
* California Environmental Protection Agency oversight and changes within the regulatory agencies
* Cleanup activities
* Known toxin hotspots (PCB, PCE, TCE) and possible migration
* Open questions about health impacts for onsite employees, downwind workers and nearby residents
* Longer range land use focus including toxic hazards, environmental elements (streams, marsh, slough, bay, underground aquifer, endangered species, wildlife, vegetation, habitat), environmental restoration, social services (fire, police, education), open space, traffic, recreation
* Cherokee-Simeon Ventures Limited Liability Corporation’s successful scheduling of individual one-on-one meetings with representatives from our community, Wednesday, June 1, 2005
